Pete was a shy little boy who felt too scared to haunt anyone, so he spent all his time carving pumpkins. In fact, he did it so well that the pumpkins claimed him as their own, wrapping him in vines and trapping him there until he became able to travel from patch to patch as a spirit.
Now called, "The Midnight Carver", he takes particular pride in carving faces that seem to change expressions when no one's looking. Legend says if you hear tiny ethereal laughter coming from your pumpkin patch at midnight, then he is hard at work crafting his next spine-chilling masterpiece.
